Lucia Anna Kathleen Fischer passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Mother Mary on May 11, 2017, after a long illness.
Lucia was born on May 18, 1946, to Mary Burns Kaplan and Arthur Kaplan, in New York City. Lucia was a graduate of Hunter College, majoring in public health.

Lucia was born on May 18, 1946, to Mary Burns Kaplan and Arthur Kaplan, in New York City. Lucia was a graduate of Hunter College, majoring in public health.
She first met Roger Lewis Fischer when he volunteering as an usher at Our Lady of the Cenacle Catholic church. In 1968, Roger and Lucia were married. Lucia was a devoted wife and mother to their three children. She took great joy in the recent birth of her granddaughter.Lucia always cared about others. When she was able, she volunteered at local hospitals and the North Dallas Shared Ministries.As avid travelers and sightseers, Lucia and Roger undertook extensive road trips across the United State and Canada. They visited museums and landmarks and enjoyed learning about local history. They especially enjoyed visiting dams, making side trips in order to view noteworthy examples. They also enjoyed bowling and participated in several leagues.A fervent reader of Sacred Scripture, Lucia was devout in her faith and spent hours preparing for her weekly Bible study.She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger; daughter Heidi; son Carl; daughter Joan and her husband Anthony; granddaughter Lucy; brother Michael; brother David and his wife Denise; and sister Judy.Visitation will be Wednesday May 17 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Calvary Hill (3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas). A Rosary will be held immediately following visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church Thursday, May 18 at 10:00 A.M.
