She attended St. Paul School of Nursing and received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.

She worked for St. Paul Hospital, the Medical Center of Plano, Kaiser Permanente of Texas, St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Hartford Insurance, and United Healthcare.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, words with friends, needlepoint, crocheting, counted cross stitch, canning fresh veggies and farm life with her cows. She loved family get-togethers. She treasured anything related to her beloved grandsons and Khloe.

Kathleen devoted her life to her faith, family, and friends. She was an asset to the nursing profession with her compassion and kindness. Her strength was an inspiration to all around her. One of her favorite sayings was "Don't mistake my kindness for weakness". She had the gift of time after her initial diagnosis in 2011. She was able to spend time with her grandsons and her family and leaves beautiful memories. She was a dedicated Texas Rangers Baseball fan and was excited for the upcoming post-season.

"Kathleen fought a great fight for almost 6 years against cancer defying all odds. Every hurdle she faced was met with determination and refusal to fail. On August 6, 2016, she fought her last battle and rose to the heavens to join her Lord Jesus Christ in a land without pain and suffering. No chemotherapy, no radiation, no needle punctures or cuts can ever torture her again. She was the love of my life and we would have been together for 53 years on November 21, 2016"- Jan
