Many could describe Edwin as the nicest guy in the world. He was highly respected by his family and peers. Among his accomplishments, Edwin became a successful entrepreneur. Not only did he manage his own business for 40 years, he also became a renowned violinist in Austin, TX, where he was born and raised. He began playing the violin at a very early age and continued well into adulthood. His musical achievements include sitting 1st chair violin and performing for various dignitaries. Edwin's musical life came to a halt when he joined the Army Air Corps, where he proudly served his country during World War II.
Some of Edwin's hobbies included watching college sports. He was especially passionate about the University of Texas football team, often taking his children to games. Edwin joyfully spent much of his time as a dedicated philatelist, or stamp collector.
Edwin is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all those who had the honor of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly Hinze Lassberg; daughter, Colette Lassberg (husband Curt Prudhomme); sons, Kurt Lassberg, and Eric Lassberg (wife Ashley); grandchildren, Bella Lassberg and Sawyer Lassberg.
